# Pulsinger & Tunakan are Not Invited
In 1993, **Patrick Pulsinger** and **Erdem Tunakan** founded the
Viennese label *Cheap Records*. One year later, two other guys from
Vienna named **Peter Kruder and Richard Dorfmeister** also had the idea
to start their own label and *G-Stone Recordings* was born. While the
latter had enormous commercial success culminating in 1998's *The
K&D Sessions* -- a compilation including remixes for **Madonna** and
[**Depeche Mode**][1], *Cheap* was always stuck playing the underdog.
That, of course, doesn't mean that most of the artists featured on the
label haven't traveled the world, nor does it mean they haven't put out
countless classic tracks. *Cheap* is very much still alive and kicking
despite the fact that, as of 2003, Patrick Pulsinger was heading for new
shores.
And this is just what will make the upcoming party on Friday so special.
Patrick Pulsinger and Erdem Tunakan will be on the decks for the first
time since ... basically forever. We still don't know if it's gonna be a
**Sluts'n'Strings & 909** live set or **Restaurant Tracks**, another
one of their myriad of pseudonyms, or maybe just a *Cheap Records* best
of. However it goes down, what we do know for sure is that it's gonna be
legendary.
Here are two tracks by Sluts'n'Strings, but since most of Cheap's stuff
were pre-YouTube era releases, you'll probably have to buy a CD or Vinyl
to listen to some more Cheap tracks.
