# Czech and Slovak bands revisit the ’80s underground
A contemporary hommage to the bustling musical underground of the
Moravian hub Brno has been long overdue. Bands such as the now legendary
Dunaj, E, Happyend, Ošklid or Odvážní bob?íci did for garage rock what
their Prague colleagues **Plastic People of the Universe** did for avant
rock -- infusing Western influences with local context. As part of the
ongoing project 20 Years After, several Czech and Slovak electronic
bands such as Midi Lidi, Ink Midget, Pjoni or ?okovoko refashioned the
hits of their forebears on a compilation *Brzo na m? p?ijde ?ada (It
Will Be My Turn Soon)* which is out now.
