# Audioccult Vol. 25: Industrial body music, By Any Means Necessary
**Light a candle. Draw the required sigils. Now, raise your arms above
your head and slowly, gently, exhale your soul. You won't need it here.
This is **Audioccult**, and it's time to get low.**
Last week I talked a bit about [goth][1]. It's not a subject that merits
a ton of discussion anymore, but it's a good starting point for
something I want to talk about today. It feels like, more and more
lately, people like **//TENSE//, Dave i.d.** and **Gatekeeper** have
been pushing a modern take on retro DIY electronic body music; meanwhile
cross-scene bands like [**White Ring**][2] and **[Fostercare][3] **were
inserting [industrial dance][4] tracks into their [mixtapes][5]. Enter
my current obsessions: **[BY ANY MEANϟ NECEϟϟARY][6]{:
target="_blank"}**. I wasn't even aware of him until a few days ago when
I heard [this][7] excellent mix. Somewhere between the fetish-friendly
industrialectro of '90s-era **Die Form** and the raw aggression of a
young **Skinny Puppy**, this one-man band channels everything cool about
Industrial dance and EBM with legitimately fresh productions and none of
the cheese factor (okay, maybe the vocals a bit). If I was going to go
to an industrial party, this is the kind of stuff I would want to hear
(I don't actually expect anyone to bust out **Monte Cazazza**...** **I
just hope they will).
This and the new **Raider Klan** mixtape are pretty much I've been on in
the last week, but I'll end today's column by asking you to drop me some
more recommendations for this kind of stuff in the comments below. I'm
kind of just beginning to poke into the newer underground industrial
