# Modeselektor Presents Their Backstage Tristesse Modeselektor founder Sebastian Szary's book Backstage Tristesse offered a glimpse into the mysterious world of touring with 100 photos taken in backstage areas around the world during Moderat's 2014 world tour. The lonely, unspectacular, and often hilariously absurd spaces represent the unadorned parts of the touring musician's highly coveted lifestyle, and the pictures inspired Electronic Beats TV to launch a new Slices series, Backstage Tristesse. Over the course of the year, we'll discover what the moments before and after a show are really like as some of our favorite Slices alumni and new faces alike guide us through their behind-the-scenes woes in a manner that's as DIY as some of the furniture set up backstage. For the inaugural installment, we decided it was only fitting to have the author of the series' namesake tell us about some of the most poignant points from his most recent tour.
